The Loire Valley vineyard, the 3rd region for appellation wines in France, includes 51 appellations and 4 IGP spread over 57,200 hectares of vines and 14 Loire departments, from Vendée to Puy-de-Dôme, for AOP production of 2.1 million hl, representing 11.9% of French production.
It is one of the ten European vineyards registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site from Chalonnes-sur-Loire (Maine et Loire) to Sully-sur-Loire (Loiret).
The wines of the Loire Valley are characterized by their freshness and their diversity of colors, materials and tastes. The reputation of rosés is well established. Quality fresh wines, fruity to perfection, they are original by their delicate tenderness. Reds, fruity wines or wines for laying down, are tasted alongside dishes chosen to enhance them. The whites, which are endlessly available in dry, sweet or syrupy, are cut for all the moments of conviviality.
The fine bubbles, another peculiarity of the Loire Valley vineyard, are made using the traditional method.
