Court Cheverny sec. Degree: 13%. Vintage: 2018. Appellation: Cour Cheverny. White colour. At the gates of the Loire castles, it is on the hunting grounds of François Ist that we must seek the origin of the presence of the Romorantine grape variety in Loir-et-Cher. In 1515, the young king, crowned with his victory in Marignan, Italy, brought 60,000 feet from Burgundy to plant them around Romorantin (hence his name), the stronghold of his mother, Louise of Savoy. It was five centuries ago. Legend has it that he intended to build a large castle there, designed by Leonardo da Vinci, and surround it with these vines to make a king's wine. The castle will be done well, but about forty kilometers away, in Chambord. The vines, they remained. The grape variety, cultivated for a long time everywhere in the region, was not retained in the AOC Touraine. Only the ultra-confidential appellation of 60 hectares, Cour-Cheverny, made up of 100% romorantin, has retained it. A world exclusive. Taste: Dry and fruity. Goes perfectly with: Cold cuts. Summer salads. Seafood and Crustaceans. Keeping: 5 years.
Contains Sulphites .

Created in 1931, the Winery Cooperative Cave of Mont-Près-Chambord is located in the heart of the Cheverny vineyard, between Loire and Sologne, alongside prestigious castles such as Blois, Chambord and Cheverny. It harvests and vinifies the grapes of its 22 members on 150 hectares. With 800,000 bottles sold per year, it is now the first producer of AOC Cheverny. The quality of its wines is regularly rewarded in competitions and reference guides. The Mont-Près-Chambord winemakers use the most modern winemaking techniques (pneumatic pressing, stainless steel, temperature control) to preserve all the typicalities of their terroirs (clays, sands) that are fully expressed by the Ga-may and Pinot Noir grape varieties, the basis of red and rosé wines, Sauvignon and Chardonnay for white wines and Romorantin for the AOC
