Whiskies and Wemyss: a family history since the 19th century. John Haig built his first distillery on Wemyss land in Fife County. Cameron Bridge Distillery is just a few miles from Wemyss Castle. Even today, barley harvested from Wemyss land is used by major distilleries. Independent bottler and whisky maker since 2005, the Wemyss family took over the craft distillery project in Kingsbarns near the Golf de St Andrew in Fife County in December 2012.
