In the Lafage family, we have been winegrowers from father to son for more than two centuries. In the 80s, Jean-Marc, very early on, actively participated in the work of the vineyard. The revelation takes place on the day when, for the first time, he vinifies the magnificent grapes on his own at Maury… From gene to passion, this work in the cellar definitely traces his destiny: the Lafage estate was born and will remain Catalan forever! A few years later, when Jean-Marc met Eliane during their wine studies, they were passionate about the same subjects. Curious and eager for discoveries, they follow a series of experiences in the most dynamic wine-growing regions of the planet, accumulating the harvesting and wine-making seasons in South America, the United States (California), South Africa, or even in Australia. In 1996: Jean-Marc and Eliane returned to the beloved country and settled on 36 hectares of family land scattered between Perpignan, Canet en Roussillon and Maury, to take over the entire estate for good in 2001. In 2006, they bought back the Mas Miraflors. The parents are always very active and keep a keen and benevolent eye on the estate. Guy Lafage devotes himself to the work in the vineyard and his wife Marthe travels the fairs and shows all over France. As for the new generation, it is getting ready. The children already take a great interest in the life of the property: Léa is pursuing brilliant studies in agricultural engineering, and the young Nicolas already has a flagship cuvée from the estate in his name ...
